Utilities
The City of Arden Hills provides sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and water main services. Residents are billed quarterly and can sign up for online billing. Electric and natural gas are provided by Xcel Energy.

Garbage and Recycling
Residents may choose a garbage hauler from licensed haulers in the City. Dependent upon property location, trash collection will occur on Tuesdays or Wednesdays regardless of the chosen hauler. Weekly curbside recycling is provided by Republic Services.

Emergency, Fire, and Police
The City of Arden Hills contracts with the Lake Johanna Fire Department for fire protection and with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office for police protection. For both emergencies and non-emergencies, always call 9-1-1.

Permits
Arden Hills' residents need permits for a variety of construction activities (building, plumbing, zoning, mechanical, signs, fences, and more). Permits are also required to host a garage sale, install a fireplace, and to park temporarily overnight on the street. Learn more here.

Families in Arden Hills are served by two award-winning school districts, Mounds View and Roseville. Arden Hills residents utilize nearby Ramsey County libraries in New Brighton, Roseville, and Shoreview.

Animals and Pets
Arden Hills has a varied topography that is home to a range of wildlife. New residents should note that all dogs and cats over three (3) months of age must be registered with the city. Pet licenses can be applied for online.

Elections and Voting
Arden Hills contracts with Ramsey County Elections to administer city, county, state and federal elections. Arden Hills City Council elections are held in November of even-numbered years during General Elections.
