The City of Arden Hills is finalizing plans for pedestrian and bicycle improvements along Lake Valentine Road and Old Snelling Avenue to improve safety conditions and connections to Mounds View High School. Construction is planned for the Summer of 2023. We invite you to attend the meeting to learn more about the planned project and construction timeline.

Project Background

Over the last decade, the City of Arden Hills has made significant investment into the development of its community trail network with the intent of a making the City a safer and more enjoyable place to walk and bicycle. The extension of the trails along Snelling Avenue and Lake Valentine Road to connect to Mounds View High School is the latest project to further this effort. SRF Consulting Group is excited to take on this project for the City and partner with the County, local stakeholders, and residents of Arden Hills to develop a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and pedestrian-friendly trail connection to Mounds View High School.

Project Status to Date

October 2022: Geotechnical evaluation of soil borings begins along proposed trail location

September 26, 2022: City Council approves final design and construction administration contract with SRF Consulting

February 24, 2022: The City is awarded Safe-Routes-to-School funds in the amount of $450,000

September 2021: SRF complete 95% (shovel-ready) plans for the proposed trail project

May 2021: Public engagement questionnaire was sent to residents in the surrounding project are for feedback on proposed trail project.

February 8, 2021: City Council approved design contract with SRF Consulting
