TCAAP Park & Open Space

The TCAAP land use plan includes a substantial amount of parks and open space. Three city parks and several pocket parks are proposed with a total of approximately 24 acres. Amenities such as playgrounds, ballfields and picnic shelters will be provided to meet the needs of the projected population.

Trails will be constructed along the Spine Road and along the collector road adjacent to the Town Center and the natural resources corridor. Additional trails linking neighborhoods with each other and recreational areas will be constructed as development occurs.

In 2018, a task force was created to capture public input regarding uses on a small parcel of TCAAP known as the Civic Site. Residents were asked to provide feedback on what they felt was a good use of the site, the results of the survey were presented to the task force in 2019 and can be found here

Ramsey County has acquired additional land for a north-south regional trail on the eastern boundary of the site. This trail will connect Highway 96 with the Rice Creek North Regional Trail. Ramsey County also acquired land for a wildlife corridor directly north of the site and a future trailhead off of County Road I. Additional information on the Rice Creek North Regional Trail Master Plan can be found here.
