Ramsey County has several updates in its service delivery, yard waste and recycling operations due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Ramsey County Service Delivery Redesign
Ramsey County is implementing a new service delivery model. If you need help or more information, you can contact Ramsey County’s Customer Contact Center at 651-266-8500.
Ramsey County’s office phone lines are open during regular hours. If you receive a busy signal or message when calling, it’s because of the heavy cell phone call volume in the Twin Cities metro area.
Ramsey County Unveils New Website with COVID-19 Information

Yard Waste and Recycling Updates
Ramsey County Yard Waste Sites are open, including the Arden Hills site, as follows: M, W, F, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; T and Th Closed; S, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..; Su 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The CDC and MDH recommend keeping six feet of space between yourself and others when visiting the sites.
Master Gardeners’ Booths
Master Gardeners’ booths at county yard waste sites have been postponed, as a part of the county’s COVID-19 response.
Compost Bin Sale
The year-round pick-up option for compost bin sales has been suspended in order to follow CDC and Minnesota Department of Health guidance on social distancing. However, the May 2, 2020 distribution event is still scheduled. Residents should remain in their vehicles, and staff will place the compost bin in their trunk. This allows residents and staff to follow social distancing guidance.
Event Recycling Containers
The lending program for temporary recycling containers has been suspended.
The March, April, May and June Fix-it Clinics have been canceled.
Food Scraps Collection
Food Scraps Collection sites are open at this time. Please follow the social distancing guidance recommended by the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health if more than one person is dropping off food scraps at the same time. The CDC and MDH recommend keeping six feet of space between yourself and others.
Household Hazardous Waste
The Product Reuse Center at the year-round site at 5 Empire Drive in Saint Paul is currently closed. However, Household Hazardous Waste collection will continue. See site map. Residents should remain in their vehicles to allow residents and staff to follow social distancing guidance.
Recycling services are still being provided. Please follow your regular pick-up schedule. For more information, contact your city or your recycling service provider.
Medicine collection sites are open at this time with the exception of North St. Paul and White Bear Lake. The CDC and MDH recommend keeping six feet of space between yourself and others, if more than one person is dropping off unwanted medicine at the same time.
The radon testing kit program has been suspended.
