At its November 16, 2020 City Council work session, the Council discussed the results of the survey gauging residents' opinions on the keeping of chickens on residential properties. 669 residents completed the survey; of the respondents, 75.2 percent indicated that they were in favor of allowing egg laying hens within the community. After a short discussion, the City Council directed staff to start reviewing and drafting ordinance language to allow for the keeping of chickens on residential lots.
