New Senior Living Community Approved

The Arden Hills City Council recently approved a plan for a new 120-unit senior housing community west of Old Highway 10 on vacant land south of Parkshore Drive.

The proposed development will include memory-care suites, assisted-living units and independent-living apartments. The project is slated to begin in 2020 and take 18 months to build. The community and care will be managed by Walker Methodist.

Proposed amenities include craft rooms, library, health and exercise center, salon, deli and theater.

The project also will include new trails around the property, along with exercise stations and shuffleboard courts on adjoining park land.

The park land is owned by the city and will be developed as part of the approved project. The park will be available for the Arden Hills community to use. The exercise stations will be geared to seniors, allow users to remain seated and have accessible options. One station will have play equipment for children.
