Absentee and Early Voting

Ramsey County residents may vote before Election Day beginning 46 days before each election. All voters can vote early by absentee ballot in Minnesota. You do not need to provide a reason for voting early.

Voters have several options for casting their ballot before Election Day

IN-PERSON/DIRECT BALLOT VOTING (where you place your ballot directly in the ballot machine)

The following locations are open Tuesday, October 27 through Monday, November 2 for in-person voting for ALL Ramsey County residents, no matter where you reside in the County:

Visit Ramsey County's Absentee Voting & Ballot Return Sites for an interactive map, including wait times at each location.

Signs will be in place with specific guidelines for entering and exiting the in-person locations. Masks will be available to voters who would like one if they have not brought one with them; however, masks will not be required. All elections judges and personnel will be wearing masks and shields, as needed, per CDC guidelines.

OCTOBER 30, 2020 UPDATE REGARDING MAILED BALLOTS:

Voters should return their mailed ballot in in-person before 5 p.m. on November 2 at one of the designated ballot return locations (Note:  Arden Hills City Hall is not a designated ballot drop off location).

On Tuesday, November 3 ballots can be returned ONLY TO THE RAMSEY COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE IN ST. PAUL until 3:00 pm!  If you bring your mailed ballot to a polling place on Tuesday, your ballot will be spoiled and you will be issued a new ballot and must vote at your precinct.

To check on the status of a mailed ballot, visit the Secretary of State's What is the Status of My Absentee or Mail Ballot?  You can also call Ramsey County Elections at 651-266-2171 for further questions.
